A March 2022 workshop organized by Solidarity Kitchen’s educational group, Kitchen Brigades – Cook Up Your Future, made close to 84,000 meals for food banks.
Over 4000 high school students participated from 200 schools, mainly in Quebec though 14 across Canada. A nourishing Mexican casserole recipe with legumes, corn, vegetables, cheese, and rice was assembled.
The goals of these workshop programs are threefold; to teach the young to make a well-balanced meal and develop their food autonomy, to instill the value of giving to one’s community, and to provide nutritious meals to food banks. Dainty is proud to have been involved through providing the rice to support another great initiative run by Solidarity Kitchen’s/La Tablée des Chefs, Dainty wholeheartedly supports their mission to ‘feed and educate’.
