Gluten-free Chocolate Cake with Chocolate ganache

This simple and elegant Chocolate Cake can be dressed up or left plain, either way it’s a scrumptuous cake to share.

Chocolate Cake

  • 1 package Dainty gluten-free Chocolate Cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (125mL) Milk
  • 1/2 cup (125mL) Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup (125mL) Hot Water
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • TIP: Switch out the 1/2 cup of hot water for coffee, or sambuca!

VERY simple Chocolate Ganache

  • 2/3 cup (160mL) 35% Cream
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup (250mL) semi-sweet Chocolate Chips



Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Grease an 8" round baking pan and line with parchment paper.


In a large bowl, blend all the ingredients together until smooth and well combined. Pour into baking pan.


Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.


Let cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pan, then let it cool completely on a wire rack.


CHOCOLATE GANACHE : Add to a pyrex measuring cup 2/3 cup (160mL) 35% cream, 2 tbsp butter, and 1 cup (250mL) semi-sweet chocolate chips. Microwave 1-2 min, then stir until melted. Let cool for 20 minutes and pour over top of cooled cake.
