Mushroom Pilaf Rice Recipe

  • 1 x 350g Dainty Pilaf rice side-dish
  • 1/2 cup (125mL) of Water
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup (250mL) Cremini Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tsp ground Thyme



Heat a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the butter, and once melted add the cremini mushrooms and thyme. Stir occasionally until the mushrooms release their liquid and become cooked. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.


Take another sauté pan, or pot, and heat over medium heat. Add the rice from the Dainty can, the contents of the seasoning pouch and 1/2 cup/125mL of water. Break up any clumps of rice and allow it to heat, stirring occasionally.


Once the rice has cooked for about 4 minutes, add the cooked cremini mushrooms to the rice and mix. Serve.


Note: Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
