Brownie & Banana Trifle

A simple and fabulous dessert inspired for a Mothers Day gathering ! Created and published May 2024 by 5 Ingredients/15 Minutes.

Brownie-banana-trifle

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of Dainty Brownie Mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup/125mL Vegetable Oil
  • 1/3 cup/80mL Water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 pouches of either Banana or Vanilla Pouding mix of 102g each
  • 4 cups/1L of 2% Milk
  • 1 container of frozen whipped topping (like Cool Whip) of 1L, thawed OR 2 cups/500mL of 35% whipping cream whipped to peaks
  • 1/2 cup/125mL of Dulce de leche sauce
  • 3 Bananas, cut into rounds
  • 1/4 cup/60mL Chocolate shavings (optional)

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 325*F/165*C. Grease a 9"x9" (23cm) baking pan and line with parchment paper.

Place the brownie mix into a large mixing bowl, add the eggs, vegetable oil, water and vanilla and stir until just combined. Bake the brownies according to the package directions. Set aside to cool completely before cutting into cubes.

In another bowl whip the pudding mix with the milk for 4 to 5 minutes. Let it rest in the fridge for at least 5 minutes.

Choose a deep glass bowl for showing off the recipe best - and start making layers. Start with brownie cubes on the bottom, add pudding, the whipped topping or whipped cream, a drizzle of dulce de leche and a layer of banana rounds. Repeat until at least once, or until you are out of layering ingredients. Garnish with chocolate shavings if desired and serve!
