Spanish Rice

This clever recipe will give you all the time you need to change into your flamenco costume. If you don’t have one, the wafting Spanish aroma coming from your kitchen will make you wish you did!

Rice cooker 1


  • 2 cups/ 500mL Dainty Brown Rice
  • 1 can of diced Tomatoes (approx 400mL)
  • 3 ½ cups/ 830mL Beef Stock (preferably homemade)
  • 1 small Spring Onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp/ 30mL Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp/ 5mL Salt
  • 1 tsp/ 5mL ground Cumin
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste



Place all ingredients into the rice cooker and stir until mixed.


When done, fluff with a fork and season with salt.


Serve as a side dish, or as a filling for burritos or tacos.
