Ingredients

Cardamom & Cinnamon Basmati recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups/375 mL Dainty Basmati Rice
  • 2 1/4 cups/565mL Water, Chicken, or Vegetable Stock
  • 8 Green Cardamom Pods
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Sea Salt (or Kosher)
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

Garam Masala Spiced Basmati recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups/375 mL Dainty Basmati Rice
  • 2 1/4 cups/565mL Water, Chicken, or Vegetable Stock
  • 2 tbsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tbsp Sea Salt (or Kosher)
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

Turmeric & Clove Basmati recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups/375 mL Dainty Basmati Rice
  • 2 1/4 cups/565mL Water, Chicken, or Vegetable Stock
  • 1 tbsp Ground Turmeric
  • 6 Whole Cloves
  • 1 tbsp Sea Salt (or Kosher)
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

Mustard Seed & Curry Leaf Basmati recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups/375 mL Dainty Basmati Rice
  • 2 1/4 cups/565mL Water, Chicken, or Vegetable Stock
  • 1 tbsp Sea Salt (or Kosher)
  • 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tbsp Black Mustard Seeds
  • 15 Curry Leaves

Preparation

For Recipes 1, 2 & 3 : Place the rice in the bowl of your rice cooker. Rinse, wash and drain the rice if wished to remove excess starch. Add in all the remaining ingredients and cook. Once done, allow to rest 5-10 minutes, fluff with a fork and serve.

For Recipe # 4 - Mustard Seed & Curry Leaf Basmati : Place the rice in the bowl of your rice cooker. Rinse, wash and drain the rice if wished to remove excess starch. Add in the liquid and salt, and cook. Once done allow to rest 5-10 minutes, and fluff with a fork.

Re Recipe #4 - while the rice cooker is cooking the rice, heat a small sauté pan over high eat. Add the butter. Once melted, add the mustard seeds. Cook for 10 seconds, or until they start popping, then add the curry leaves. Once the curry leaves stop popping, pour the mixture into the the rice. Fold in gently to combine, adjust seasoning and serve.
