Rice cooker Jambalaya

A dead simple meal! Serve it up with a side salad or some steamed greens, and dinner is done.

  • 1 1/2 cups/375mL Dainty Conditioned (parboiled) rice
  • 1 small Onion, peeled and sliced
  • 1 small can diced Tomatoes
  • 1 cup/250mL Smoked Sausage (Chorizo or Kielbasa), sliced
  • Optional: 1 small can of black-eyed peas
  • 3/4 cup/180mL Water
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Hot sauce to garnish



Put all the ingredients into the bowl of your rice cooker and stir to mix. Put the cover on your rice cooker and cook.


Once the cooker finishes cooking, let it sit another 5-10 minutes on 'WARM'.


Season with salt and pepper, and stir. Serve, with hot sauce as desired.
